Soil Science includes aspects of mineralogy, classification, land evaluation, chemistry, fertility, fertilization, conservation, and biology.</p> https://jurnal.faperta-unras.ac.id/index.php/jas/article/view/740 Relative Growth Rate And Net Assimilation Rate Of Tomato Fertilized With Rice-Washing Water 2026-08-15T03:36:22+00:00 Tatik Raisawati traisawati@yahoo.com Parwito Parwito parwitougm@gmail.com <p>Rice-washing water enriched with coconut water has potential as liquid organic fertilizer, yet its effects on tomato physiological growth efficiency remain insufficiently characterized. This study specifically evaluated relative growth rate and net assimilation rate under different fertilizer concentrations and application frequencies. The experiment was conducted from March to June 2023 in North Bengkulu, Indonesia. Plant dry mass and leaf area were measured at 2, 4, and 6 weeks after transplanting to calculate relative growth rate and net assimilation rate. The 1:10 dilution produced the highest relative growth rates, 0.81 and 0.65, during 2–4 and 4–6 weeks after transplanting, respectively. The same dilution produced the highest net assimilation rates of 0.0050 and 0.0028 g cm−2 day−1. Application frequency did not independently affect either physiological indicator. Concentration and frequency interacted during 4–6 weeks for relative growth rate, with the strongest response occurring at the 1:10 dilution applied two or three times. Net assimilation rate declined in all treatments during the later interval, indicating reduced assimilation efficiency as plants aged. A 1:10 dilution therefore provided the most favorable nutrient balance for tomato biomass accumulation and leaf-area efficiency. This study assessed gender inequality, forms of structural subordination and women's access to economic resources across the Bengkulu oil palm sector using secondary data from Statistics Indonesia, the Directorate General of Plantations, policy documents and previous empirical studies. The analysis combined descriptive quantitative analysis, the Harvard Analytical Framework, the Gender Analysis Pathway and source and theoretical triangulation. Smallholder plantations represented an estimated 68.2% of the oil palm area in the compiled data. Women predominated in fertilizing and spraying (&gt;75%) and loose-fruit collection (&gt;85%), whereas men predominated in harvesting (&gt;95%) and loading (&gt;98%). Female labor force participation in major oil palm districts was approximately 49.8-54.0%, compared with 83.8-86.1% for men, while women's involvement in farmer institutions was reported at below 8-15%. Women were also concentrated in casual daily labor with limited formal contracts, social protection and control over land and plantation income. These findings show that gender inequality is embedded in employment status, task segregation, institutional access and resource control, requiring gender-responsive labor protection and sustainability governance.</p> 2026-05-31T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2026 Jurnal Agricultural Science
